Great matches and a great success for the 2009 Gernot Geppert Memorial Cup.

Although the previous days were rather dull, we faced excellent rugby conditions. Starting 10:30, we played 2 groups in a round robin system and the final standings were:
Group A
1. Vienna Celtic RFC
2. RC Donau
3. RC Wombats Wr Neustadt

Group B
1. RC Stade Viennois
2. Vienna International School
3. Celtic Wanderers
4. RC Graz

After that, the final round began, where we played the semi finals CELTIC vs VIENNA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL and STADE vs DONAU. Also, the remaining 3 teams played a round robin for 5th-7th place.
In the end, it was CELTIC and STADE who made their way to the Cup Final, which was a well fought and great match. Celtic tried best to get their hands on the Cup for the 2nd time in a row, but Stade proved too strong on that day, so they won the Geppert Cup 2nd time after 2006. Here are the final standings:

1. RC Stade Viennois
2. Vienna Celtic RFC
3. RC Donau (won the 3rd place boat race)
4. Vienna International School
5. RC Wombats Wr Neustadt
6. Celtic Wanderers
7. RC Graz

After the tournament we moved to Flanagans Irish Pub, where owner Alan Field had donated a keg of beer, the outcome of this also topped up the charity funds - cheers for that Alan!

But above all, the outcome of the day was unexpected - on the bottom line we were able
to raise roughly 1.300 EUR for the Austrian Stem Cell Register, which is a brilliant result!!!
Very big thank you to all who came and helped us making it a really important day!

Also thank you very much to Gernots family for coming every year!!!

I trust Gernot watched us the whole day and I bet he was also impressed!
